God and Me- Please read with an open mind and heart!

  • Mood
  • Music Pillar "Where Do We Go From Here?"
  • Praying That acceptance rather than expectation
  • Verse for the posting is refer to posting...

A while back, a person by the name of Alex asked me many questions upon my belief.
This has been long overdue, occording to me, but because of God's timing...I waited for Him to help me.
Also some recent viewers of my journal ask of my belief too.
Here is my answer (to the recent visitors) and to alex (in a shorter version...will continue fully with your questions by email).

God asks us to love one another and accept each other in the differences- not to find out WHY people are who they are. To be honest, I may not know you, but I'm happy you're a sister/brother in Christ. If you do not believe in Christ, I pray that He will continue to bless you. After all, you may not believe in Him, but he sure believes in you. What I am and do in my walk is part of GOd's plan, and it's not always up to me to explain everything. In my case, for being myself, whether it just being a Chrisitan or Gothic, I have the chance to do God's plan for me- speaking the truth to those who might not know it. Your walk is differnt too. Just because I have a different lifestyle doens't mean GOd is going to shun me away. AngelicVampyress is a name I created...just a name. Gothic is a lifestyle of it's own, not really holding you from any belief you may have; NOR is any other label that may be set. (BTW Labels are everywhere- boy/girl, punk/goth, etc.   Stereotyping that gothic is part of a "non godly" group is another type of judgement.  I do not feel it is in any right for anyone to assume anything of anyone- it's a type of judgement.As I once learned, assuming only gets you in trouble. The acronim for assume is spelled out (pardon my language) ASS [of] U [&] ME- ASSUME
God will answer any of the questions you may have...the key to getting the answers is patience with God's timing-faith is when you have that patience.
I do not like religion, for it is bound by "rules", Christ didn't come to set rules, but rather give us a choice of life and death. So, spiritual is the word I'd rather use because I am connected to the Trinity's Spirit (God/Christ/Holy Spirit).
I've already accepted you for you, even if I never met you....but unfortunately, it seems (correct me if I'm wrong) that you'd rather know why I am, instead of accepting who I am.
Through the experiences God has blessed me with in learning and loving,
21 years may not seem like much, but God is full of wonderful surprizes, and trials. The thing to look for is the door of opportunity to either stand for your faith or take it out in a positive-learning outlook.
You chose your path, as I have.
It's great that you chose God and you're serious about it. (for those who are)
My aunt once told me in times of trial " Learn to accept, rather than expect, and You'll have fewer disappointment."....and boy was she right.
But must ask you to look to the Serenity Prayer in this time of confusion
It does, after all, state what I am asking...

The Serenity Prayer
Path

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Requiescat in Pace

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

Proverbs 3, 5-6

P.S. If this was taken in offense when reading it, I will pray that God will help you step asside your own understanding and that you will come to learn a more understanding that everyone is different in their beliefs. Not a "mixed" belief, but the belief that is locked away in their subconscious.

In winning souls for christ being created in the image of God. entails mirroring God that others might see him. God is King of Kings and Lord Of Lords so therefore I believe that makes women of God princesses. Not to judge, but there is no scripture in the word about vampires or gothic lifestyles. I believe that sometimes in the struggle of being an individual sometimes what God represents gets lost in the quoting of scriptures and adding him to who we think we are. Getting saved should make us new creatures resembling God. where others can see his light and love, and the beauty depicted on our faces. we should become invisible to ourselves and his spirit evident and visible.yes God is the ultimate example of love, yet also he has an mandate of how he wants us to portray him.

I really hope you don't take offense, but I just thought that god wouldn't begat vampires and if it is just a lifestyle it is like you are this beautiful christlike cake but you are covered with pepper icing, you have to be careful what you attach to Godlike Things, because you will eventually have to grow out of your clothing, the older you get you will change your look and perhaps some of your personality, so the influence that you leave behind is important. God is beauty and he made so many beautiful things, birds trees, oceans, sunsets, butterflies, flowers, sunshine, let the sun in you always shine. Just my thought, I am glad that you love the Lord.

thanx but If you read the verse I sent you, "But who are you, oh man, to talk back to God. Shall what is formed say to him who formed it? 'Why did you make this?' Does not the Potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?"
There is no point to ask me or God why he created me the way I am. I love how he did, my flaws and all.
I believe I know more of life than you might being that I've had 21 years of life, so far. This is me. I stated what i believe and that's what you asked.No point in arguing and preaching to me. God puts us in situations/trials to learn of the "things not to be associated with" so that we might use that as a tool to reach to others who do not know the truth- rather than take it for advantage (selfish reasoning)
I am who I am. Clothes DOESN"t make the person or personality.
If you're not judging, then why do you say "BUT" all the time...
that doesn't excuse you from judging me.
The point of the Serenty prayer was to inform you to TRUST GOD in things you don't understand instead of "fighting" a battle that isn't meant to be fought.
Before trying to take the thorn out of my eye, try looking into your own log in yours. Jesus says to not to judge anybody for ANY reason but to leave it to Him in his timing. I know who i am- a child in Christ, He IS all "types"/skin color/ nationalities of all people.
Jesus also says to come as you are.
You can't just go around and say "You don't have Christ in you with the way you look or act." because it's judging once again. You know? the best people you actually find in Christ are the people you least likely expect.
"Accept rather than expect and you'll have fewer disappointments"
Jesus love us all, so why don't we just loves each other for our differences instead of picking and pointing.
You may not believe that the way I dress or present myself may be Christlike, but who are you to judge that?
I pray GOd will help you in wisdom of

I read your comments. Bravo! And, you know what? I have really gained smething from it. You hit the nail on the head when you said you accept me and others you do not personally know. I have always found it necessary to judge, for I assume that I will be judged (and usually I am right). This came back to bite me recently. I had a big plan...to get out of the Army and go into film-making. I had a friend who I actually never met but we have talked since the beginning of 2004 when I was in Iraq. Well, I was hoping t come to the states and stay with her for a couple months while I set up a new life. She said she didn't know me. :-( This isn't such a big deal, unless you have no family in the states and haven't live there in almost 4 years. Those I do know, well, I can't live there again. I made the mistake of telling them my religion and getting judged. I would have to live a lie rather than be myself. So, today, I have chosen to stay in the Army 3 more years...and live in the USA this time. Maybe people can get to know me and trust me when they get the Ipods and laptops and game consoles out of their faces and decide to live an open social life again. It will be so nice to live in America again, even if the plan is a little different than I originalliy planned. Let the next adventure begin!
Anyway, I think that asking why you are the way you are...well, how could I ever really fully understand that. And the mystery is kinda fun! Sarah, your acceptance is such a lightbearing beautiful contrast to the behavior of men who will kill and burn because of a damn cartoon! I think I want to be in your corner. People who burn embassies aren't good neighbors, methinks. It still hard not to judge people, regarding their actions, but I am moved by your acceptance. Thank you.

I'm really impressed by this post and in many ways I can relate with it personally.
I consider myself a Christo-Pagan and there have been quite a few people who try to "save" me or even worse will condemn. You are so right when you say that God asks us to accept one another and our differences. We may not always agree on things and if we did how dull life would be for we have so much to learn from eachother.
I truly believe that we each can find God (or whatever one may call God)in our own way and on our own path.
Take care and Blessings to you
